"I remember thinking what do I do? How do I acknowledge Bella's passing and let them know that their dog mattered? How can I help heal this wound from the loss of a friend that meant so much in their lives?"
Hi, My name is Andrea J. Weisbond. You can call me Andie.
A few years ago, my neighbors lost their beloved dog, Bella. I remember walking into the elevator with my dog, Schmoopy, and seeing Bella's owner's standing there, stunned. They blurted out, "Bella's gone! She wasn't doing well, but we had no idea she was that bad. We just got back from the vet. I can't believe she's gone."
"I remember thinking what do I do? How do I acknowledge Bella's passing and let them know that their dog mattered? Do I send flowers? Do I bake something? Buy a card?"
I thought about Bella and how losing her felt similar to losing a loved one. I used a mourning ritual to help me process my unimaginable losses. And, one day I realized that I could adjust the process I used to help people with pet loss.
Two years ago, I put together my first Parting Tails® gift box. I tested it and tested it and tested it. I received feedback and have done my best to provide you with the best product possible.
And, the rest is history.
Hi, My name is Marilyn Chapman. I am a Conceptual Designer and Sr. Creative Director. I attended the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan where I earned my BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Art History. I've also studied design in the Netherlands on the annual summer academic study, De Program. While I was there I had the opportunity to work with some of the best designers and learn their different creative approaches to design thinking and process.
My second passion is photography. You can view some of my favorites on Flickr.
I developed Parting Tail's branding identity, journal, and package design.
